Rainy's Future

Well, good news- Rainy has found her forever home! Two of her new family members came to visit her this week, and it was a match made in heaven!

By the end of September, Rainy will be able to achieve her CD (Companion Dog) title if her owners choose to do so, which means she will be able to:

- sit
- down
- stay (for 1 minute sit, 3 minute down)
- come
- heel on and off lead
- stand for exam

Not to mention, she's already great in the house, crate, and on the grooming table.
Can't wait to get some pictures with her and her new family!

From the show...

Here's Rainy with her new friend, Nicole Frausto! Nicole played with Rainy all weekend, socialized her with many people and dogs, and bathed and blow-dried her after the show was over!

Rainy's Dog Show Adventure

This past weekend Rainy attended the Greenville dog show. She got lots of socialization and many compliments on her personality and intelligence. Everyone was so impressed that such a little puppy could do so much!

Progress

Rainy is incredibly bright for such a young puppy! She's already doing sits and downs fluidly, and "puppy push-ups" are one of her favorite things to do to get treats. Being around her dad, Hudson, has made her aspire to be a great retriever/swimmer/jumper, at least in the pool. She recently met her first cat, and while the initial reaction of the cat may have been unfavorable to Rainy, she now knows how to play with a cat without squishing him (my cats are great for training puppies).

So, soon we will move on to "stay" and "come" to accompany the "sit" and "down" commands she knows so well!

Who is Rainy?

Rainy was born on April Fools' Day! Hence her name, Lanier's Fool in the Rain, AKA Rainy. She is the daughter of Hudson and Stella, and is absolutely adorable!

She loves to float around on pool floats- seriously. She got the idea after watching us float around one hot day, and she decided she would like to try it. I'll post pictures soon.

She's very intelligent and will be incredibly easy to train. I hope to have her fully trained and ready to go to her new home before the end of September. As with Guinness (guinness001.blogspot.com), Rainy will be totally house trained, crate trained, leash trained, and elementary obedience trained.
